CURTIS JONES ON NORWICH WIN WE ARE IN TO THE NEXT ROUND IT'S A GOOD NIGHT

Curtis Jones was please with liverpool's ability to come through unscathed  against Norwich city in the Emirates FA cup on sunday afternoon

The Reds secured a dominant 5-2 victory over the visitors to ensure passage into the fifth round of the competition, where they will host either Watford or Southampton at Anfield.

Jones opened the scoring for his team ahead of further efforts from Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch – with the latter netting in added time to put an exclamation point on victory over the Canaries.

"It was a perfect game," Jones told ITV post-match. "There were loads of goals scored, we came off with the team [and] didn't have any injuries as well. We're into the next round. So, it's a good night overall."

On the players' reaction to the announcement of Jürgen Klopp's decision to step down as manager at the end of the season…

Just carry on. We have our goals that we've set and stuff, so nothing has changed. Of course it's sad for the whole of the club. But he's a man [as well as a manager] and that's his choice so we respect that. We'll just go with the flow.

On whether 'this is as good as he's felt' and being taken off possibly pointing to him starting on Wednesday…

I hope so! I think so [that he's in his best form]. I've been around the first team now for a long time and I'd definitely say this is the [best] point I'm at now – playing all the games, consistent as well. I'm happy, the team's happy so happy days all round.

On trying to finish the season in style and whether the news about Klopp could make the team stronger…

Definitely, I think so yeah. At the beginning of the season we had our goals, and the news is out now as well. We'll be giving it more, definitely.
