- Injuries
Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic
Thiago has been sidelined since requiring surgery on a hip issue that ruled him out of the final weeks of the 2022-23 campaign, and remains unavailable for selection. Bajcetic has also missed the majority of the current season.
Pepijn Lijnders on January 9: "They will not be ready for the end of this month. It will probably be going into the next month to train with us. But both [with] no complications, progressing."
Trent Alexander-Arnold
The Reds vice-captain is nearing a return to training from a knee injury sustained in the Emirates FA Cup victory at Arsenal in early January.
Jürgen Klopp on January 25: "With Trent, is it already Norwich or is it the game after? We have to see. He was not in team training, not even parts of team training yet, so if he can be in tomorrow then I have to make a decision there."
Ben Doak
The young forward is on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury while representing the Reds' U21s.
Lijnders on December 19: "That's not a good one. He teared his lateral meniscus, which needs surgery. That one will take [a] longer time. He is young, he is a fit guy, he is a positive guy so for sure he will come back stronger, and we need him to come back with the same fire he has with the ball, how he was. He can take time and we will wait for him."
Joel Matip
The centre-back sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury during a challenge in the second half of Liverpool's win over Fulham on December 3.
Matip subsequently underwent a successful operation and will continue his rehabilitation at the AXA Training Centre, with no timescale placed on his recovery.
Andy Robertson
The left-back was part of the matchday squad at Fulham on January 24 for the first time since undergoing surgery on the shoulder he injured while playing for Scotland in October.
Klopp on January 25: "Robbo is physically ready and I think it was good to have him in the matchday squad, and he's completely in the normal team training schedule."
Mohamed Salah
The forward returned to the AXA Training Centre on January 24 to begin an intensive rehabilitation programme with Liverpool's medical team following the muscle injury he sustained while representing Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Salah immediately began work with the club's medical staff upon his return to Merseyside with a view to being back in action as soon as possible for club and country, giving him the best chance to return to compete at AFCON if Egypt continue to advance in the tournament.
Lijnders on January 23: "The only reason why our medical team and their [Egypt's] medical team decided for him to come back is to give him the best possible chance to be available in the final, if Egypt reaches the final... his expected return to play is between three to four weeks if everything goes smooth and everything goes right."
Dominik Szoboszlai
The No.8 was withdrawn midway through the second half of the win over Newcastle United on New Year's Day with a hamstring issue. He is targeting a return against Norwich.
Klopp on January 25: "Dom [is in team training] from tomorrow on. He had yesterday a session, today I think he has a day off as well and then from tomorrow on he is in completely normal. That means he is obviously ready for minutes."
Kostas Tsimikas
Tsimikas is sidelined after suffering a broken collarbone in Liverpool's league encounter with Arsenal at Anfield in December.
Klopp on January 25: "Kosti is close. Kosti is actually fit, Kosti just has to wait now for the green light because the bone healing takes much longer, but the plate is doing the job in the moment. Now we have to figure out when is one taking enough over, let me say it like that. And then he's in training as well. He was not out that long, like Trent was not, like Dom was not."

Endo is on international duty with Japan as they compete at the AFC Asian Cup, where they have reached the last 16 and are next in action on January 31.
