REVIEWLiverpool 3-1 Burnley: Analysis of 'magnificent' Nunez and key contributions from Elliott and Kelleher

Neil Mellor highlighted Darwin Nunez's action-packed game and the performances of Harvey Elliott and Caoimhin Kelleher in Saturday's 3-1 win over Burnley at Anfield.

In another post-match show, now available to watch on LFCTV GO, the former Manchester United player looked at how Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League and bounced back from their defeat at Arsenal.

“It was a historic event because it was the biggest crowd ever for a competition at Anfield and it was a great response to get the three points. In the end we were deserved winners,” said Mellor.

“Darwin was great and always intimidating. He deserved to score, it was a fantastic header.

“Nunas has made 37 Premier League runs this season, the most of any Liverpool player."His work rate is really outstanding. He's put together a good team and he's willing to come back and help defensively.

"Mellor also acknowledged the contributions of substitute Elliott and goalkeeper Kelleher, who came off the bench to play key roles in the two decisive goals that earned the Reds the three points.

"Harvey had to be patient, but he always had a big vision and a will to contribute," he added.

“He has great awareness and made two great passes in front of goal. According to Opta it was 1 assist but in reality it was 2 because he got first aid due to a slight offside. We know he has two!"

Caoimhin Kelleher deserves a mention as he made two great saves for us at key moments in the game, but VAR disallowed it in the second half due to a handball by [David Datro] Fofana."
