Thiago Alcantara
Thiago has resumed full training following a long-term absence since requiring surgery on a hip issue that ruled him out of the final weeks of the 2022-23 campaign.
Jürgen Klopp on January 30: "Thiago trained [for the] first time, which was an incredible moment after all the months he couldn't. And then training at the level he trains – oof! But he needs time. But it's anyway a wonderful sign for yesterday."
Stefan Bajcetic
Bajcetic has missed the majority of the current season due to a fitness issue.
Pepijn Lijnders on January 9: "They [Thiago and Bajcetic] will not be ready for the end of this month. It will probably be going into the next month to train with us. But both [with] no complications, progressing."
Ben Doak
The young forward is on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury while representing the Reds' U21s.
Lijnders on December 19: "That's not a good one. He teared his lateral meniscus, which needs surgery. That one will take [a] longer time. He is young, he is a fit guy, he is a positive guy so for sure he will come back stronger, and we need him to come back with the same fire he has with the ball, how he was. He can take time and we will wait for him."
Joel Matip
The centre-back sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury during a challenge in the second half of Liverpool's win over Fulham on December 3.
Matip subsequently underwent a successful operation and will continue his rehabilitation at the AXA Training Centre, with no timescale placed on his recovery.
Darwin Nunez
The forward sustained a foot injury during Liverpool's victory over Chelsea on January 31 and his fitness must be assessed ahead of the visit to Arsenal on February 4.
Klopp on February 2: “I don’t know if Darwin is available or not because after 20 minutes somebody stepped on his foot and it was very painful after the game.
“He only took his boot off after the game because he didn’t want to see it before, he knew there was something. So, he left the stadium in a boot, and it was not a football boot.
“So, nothing broke, X-ray clear, but [it is] swollen and we have to see if he can get his foot back into a boot or not because we all know that takes time. I did not see him this morning so we have to wait a little bit.”
Mohamed Salah
The forward is recovering from a muscle injury he sustained while representing Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Klopp on January 30: "Mo is not ready for this game [against Chelsea on January 31], not ready for the next game and then not. He is injured, I'm not sure if that was a misunderstanding in the beginning. He is injured and a muscle injury takes time. It could have been much worse but he is not available in the moment, he is just doing his rehab."
Kostas Tsimikas
Tsimikas is sidelined after suffering a broken collarbone in Liverpool's league encounter with Arsenal at Anfield in December.
Klopp on January 25: "Kosti is close. Kosti is actually fit, Kosti just has to wait now for the green light because the bone healing takes much longer, but the plate is doing the job in the moment. Now we have to figure out when is one taking enough over, let me say it like that. And then he's in training as well. He was not out that long, like Trent was not, like Dom was not."
